Ryan Thomas is a Mexican-American cinematographer based in Los Angeles, working across narrative, documentary, and commercial projects. He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) and an ASC Vision Mentee under Lex DuPonte, ASC.
His recent work includes the dark comedy I Really Love My Husband, directed by GG Hawkins, which premiered at SXSW and was shot on a remote island in Panama under a stripped-down production approach. He recently completed principal photography on the horror feature My Love For You is Deep, but the Devil Loves Me Deeper, shot entirely on MiniDV and slated for festival release later this year.
His short-form work has screened at festivals including Sundance, Slamdance, Palm Springs International ShortFest, and Cinequest, with multiple projects selected as Vimeo Staff Picks.
In the commercial space, Ryan has collaborated with brands and clients including Nickelodeon, the Los Angeles Lakers, Hot Wheels, Comedy Central, Paramount, MTV, Redfin, Jack in the Box, Microsoft, GitHub, Google, and Meta.
